The Christian doctrine of the Ascension holds that Jesus ascended to heaven in the presence of his Eleven Apostles following his resurrection, and that in heaven he sits at the right hand of God the Father. And where is this place called heaven? More difficult yet is this question. Can one be an ascended before ascension? Say what?
Belief in the Ascension of Jesus is found in the Nicene Creed, and is affirmed by Christian liturgy and, in the West, by the Apostles’ Creed. The Ascension implies Jesus’ humanity being taken into heaven. And exactly where heaven is poses a good question.
We WERE before we were HERE!
Some people believe that we CHOSE this life: chose our parents, etc. Some people believe that we’ve been here on this planet before in a previous age. You can find all kinds of ideas if you want. In fact, Marty Dow writes, “There is a whole new species being birthed upon the planet at this time. This species is comprised of Divine Beings of Light manifesting the fullness of Spirit in their forms. They are completely absorbed by the Power and Presence of God — Never separated from the Oneness with Spirit. These new Beings of Light walk in the Power of God, anointed by God to assist those not yet awakened to throw off the shackles of disease, struggle, poverty and the erroneous sense of separation that has infected the earth.”
Meg Blackburn Losey would call such people by the following names: Crystalline Children, Indigo, Star Kids, etc.
Many scientists speak of the Shift in Consciousness or dimensional shift as a “returning home”, and some even using the word ascension. Many religions and cultures embrace the concept of “Ascended Masters”. In some cultures they’re talking about savants and others who have achieved an enhanced sense of awareness- an awakening.
Others believe that ascended masters are enlightened spiritual beings who once lived on earth just like we do. Over the course of many lifetimes of devotion and striving, they fulfilled their mission and reason for being—their divine plan—and ascended back to their divine source, reuniting with Spirit. Though they once had physical bodies like we wear, they now dwell in the heaven world, or etheric octave, and have bodies of light.
The waters can get pretty deep now can’t they?
It can get pretty deep and therein we lose many religious sojourners who simply refuse to fold up their tents and journey on. But, looking at the lack of spiritual progress over tens of centuries, I must ask the question, what do we have to lose? I’m not losing my salvation and neither are you. I’m not going to the proverbial (or literal) hell, and neither are you.
